Jacqueline Azah is a 21 year old student at the historically black Clark Atlanta University. She majors in Political Science and plans to graduate and attend film school to create boundary pushing art with heavy political nuance. As an African immigrant from Cameroon, a colonized African country that frequently experiences civil unrest, She has always understood what it feels like to be ostracized. She has held positions in student government as early as the 5th grade. This manifested into activism in 2018 at 17 years old working in the Gun Violence Prevention movement. She started working with the student survivors of The Parkland high school shooting and the student chapter of Demand Action for Gun Safety.
She is most acknowledged for her leadership role in the 2020 Black Lives Matter Movement. She aided in the organization of over 4 protests totaling in more than 20,000 attendees. This led to her working with various organizations such as ACLU, the San Joaquin District Attorney's Office, featured on CNN, Fox, Rolling Stones, Atlanta Voyage Magazine, HP, Vice, + more! Most importantly, the intersections of her identity being blackness, queerness, womanhood, and an African Immigrant continuously refuel her passion to inspire her generation to value service to others and remain authentic.
